Mokaya has over 10 years’ experience providing tax services to clients in the Financial Services, Consumer and Industrial Markets and Non-governmental and Public Sectors. He has deep experience in tax compliance services, tax optimization reviews, tax due diligence, tax controversy and dispute resolution, strategic tax planning, tax policy formulation, design of tax optimal supply chains, and transfer pricing.

Prior to joining SKM Africa, Mokaya worked with KPMG East Africa, Deloitte East Africa and East Africa Breweries. Mokaya holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Kenyatta University and he is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same university. He is a qualified accountant, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), and is registered as a Tax Agent by the Kenya Revenue Authority.

Prior to working at SKM Africa, Gerhard worked at KPMG East Africa for 6 years and was also seconded at KPMG Global Services Hungary where he gained international business and tax experience while providing business solutions to clients across Eastern and Central Europe

George is a Partner within the Tax and Regulatory team within the firm. He has specialist skills in Kenyan and cross border taxation. He is also an expert in regulatory compliance across various sectors.
George is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Secretary.
He routinely advises clients on all tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and corporate restructurings and on business and transaction structuring generally. He also assists clients in complex tax audits and disputes with the Kenya Revenue Authority.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the tax and corporate practice at Anjarwalla & Khanna Advocates. Before that he worked in the tax and regulatory practice at KPMG in Kenya and Thailand.
He works with a wide variety of multinational clients including power and utility firms, private equity funds, banking and insurance companies, real estate developers and public benefit organizations.
