About the training

The tax landscape in Kenya has been undergoing continuous evolution over the past few years, with significant shifts also observed globally. This evolution is evident in the frequent amendments to tax laws aimed at introducing new concepts aligned with international best practices.
Undoubtedly, taxation remains an intricate puzzle for businesses and individuals, demanding constant effort to piece together its complexities. Each day presents a multitude of tax challenges for numerous organizations. As ongoing tax reforms prioritize the modernization of tax laws and the implementation of measures to boost revenue for accommodating the ever-expanding budget, many organizations find themselves pondering the implications of these evolving tax landscapes.
Additionally, the government has established ambitious revenue targets for the Kenya Revenue Authority, resulting in a more proactive approach to tax collection, marked by deliberate efforts to enhance compliance. Moreover, the government has drafted a National Tax Policy and a Medium-Term Revenue Strategy, outlining measures to address the revenue shortfall primarily through tax policy adjustments and bolstering compliance levels across various sectors.
Hence, it becomes crucial to closely monitor recent developments and proactively strategize to anticipate and mitigate potential tax risks. As the tide gradually shifts, organizations are compelled to maintain a keen focus on managing tax risks by staying abreast of the continuously changing tax environment.
The training will focus on the ever-changing tax landscape as well as tax policy and administration reforms and some of the topical areas to be discussed during the seminar include:

  • The emerging compliance issues arising out of the enactment of the Finance Act, 2024.
  • KRA Audit and Tax Dispute Management.
  • Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (e-TIMS)
  • Mitigating the effects of adverse exposure to tax risk
  • iTax enhancements
